Random Thoughts

So what’s the secret of life? Is it someone’s idea of a joke to have us go through all the drama and bullshit that’s thrown at us on a daily basis? The relationship struggles, the pressure to find someone, the pressure to keep someone, the pressure to live up to other’s ideals of you. Some people make it seem so easy while the rest of us plod along just trying to keep our heads above water.

People tell me to live for the future; to hell with that!! I’m going to live for the present and make the most of what I have, when I have it. There are no guarantees in life - why save something for a rainy day when there’s nothing but blue skies all around??

I mentioned before that I felt there are some people who can’t/won’t change that much. Is that really a true statement? Does it depend on the person and their particular situation??

Course, it all comes down to what changes need to be made. If we’re looking at something detrimental here, like drug and/or alcohol abuse, or physical and/or mental abuse, then that individual has to be ready & willing to right the wrongs and fight their demons. And they have to want to do it for themselves. Promising to change for anyone else is not the solution - no matter how good it may sound to the other person, it’s not going to work. Acceptance of that is very hard. Sometimes, you just have to cut your losses and walk away - easier said than done.

I’m not saying change is impossible! Far from it! I know some who have fought their demons and are wonderful people I’m lucky to have met!

So those are the big changes; how about the little quirks that drive you insane?? Do you try & make those changes or accept that’s the person you fell in love with?

He’s definitely occupying the news lately; now they’re saying that he’ll never play with Real again - they’ll allow him to train with the team but his days on the pitch are over. Does that sum up his football career in general? Is his career (as he/we knew it) over? Is he simply another washed up footballer?

Another washed up footballer, with abs of steel………give me a sec here……..ok I’m back! No matter, he’s still Becks, he’s still got the plastic wifey by his side (more’s the fecking pity!), and while, in my opinion, he wasn’t one of the greatest players ever, he had his moments of glory.
