Lately, I’ve run into several people who are disillusioned with their relationships for one reason or another. Some issues they have are completely understandable. As for the others - I cringe to hear them compare their relationship to something they saw in a movie. Hollywood & romance novels have taken great strides in creating the ideal relationship, the perfect couple; a far cry indeed from real life.
I understand wanting to have the perfect relationship with your SO, but surely we’re not so brainwashed that we confuse that for something we saw in a movie??
