With one of his posts, which you can read here. Having been through the wringer with medical issues over the last year, I know the worry that comes with dealing with health issues. Luckily I didn’t have to wait any amount of time to go for tests, and the results were back in no time either.
Bock is referring to a fellow blogger (link to her site added on the right – Avoiding Life) who has worrying symptoms and is unable to get an appointment in any reasonable amount of time. She’s in her twenties, with two young children. And now she’s dealing with a possible cancer scare and a negligent system that can’t do the test in a timely fashion to give her the reassurance she desperately craves.
With all the unflattering attention the health-care system in Ireland has received over the past few months, you’d think it’d at least attempt to pull it’s head out of it’s arse and right the wrongs. But no, it wasn’t enough that many women were misdiagnosed, given the all clear when they, in fact, did have breast cancer. How many more lives are they willing to fuck up before doing something??
And this is just one woman’s story – how many others out there echo the same sentiment? How many lives are affected by this? How many more women have to die before HSE does the right thing? The way the whole thing has been handled to date is a complete fucking farce!
I will be following her story with interest; I hope, for her sake and her family’s sake, she gets the necessary tests sooner rather than later. I hope HSE gets a reality check. I’m sorry for all the women dealing with this, with the “support” of a shoddy system and a minister crying crocodile tears.

Thanks for the mention and visit Limerick Gal. Like you I am deeply concerned about other women in this situation. At my age statistics are on my side, but older women don’t have that going for them and something tells me there are a good few of them in the same rut as I am!

It’s horrific! That, in this day & age, you have to deal with this. You shouldn’t have to! It’s a no-brainer!!
Honestly, words escape me!
Thanks for stopping by! I’ve got my fingers crossed for a great outcome for you!

In this modern day and age, having an inadequate health system thats almost reminiscent of the 1800’s isnt simply acceptable. While the crocodile tears flow as you say, it doesnt rectify whats going on, and while the minister for health may be whining that the resources etc arent there, you can bet his paycheck isnt getting any smaller. Any ordinary joe soap would have been fired on the spot for a blunder like that, peoples lives are messed up…however, I reckon that (yet again) this will prove to be another one that the government will do their utmost to cover up
